Keeley McNamara's grandfather is dying, and even her faerie magic can't save him. She'll do almost anything to make his final days happy, even making him think her pain-in-the-ass-but-extremely-sexy boss is the man of her dreams.
Ciaran Clifton is nobody's hero. A Silkie, banished from the sea, his only way back is to prove he can care for someone other than himself. He has no problem "caring" for his quirky new personal chef but every Silkie instinct cries for him to claim her as his mate. To do that, Ciaran fears he'll have to deny his heritage and the sea he loves.
When Keeley realizes just how high a price Ciaran must pay for their love, will she have the strength to let him go?
This is an unapologetically sexual story with a very carnal and sensual leading man. Ciaran is not a perfect hero but he is perfect for Keeley. These are two deeply flawed individuals and I loved how authentic they were and enjoyed watching the changes in each of them as the story progressed. There were a lot of serious elements that were handled sensitively and with a gentle humor. As a lifelong fan of folk tales the paranormal aspects were greatly appreciated. Laura Browning has a fabulous tone that seamlessly weaves scorching passion and sadness and brings to life a fascinating cast of characters that I am looking forward to seeing again. This is one to read if you are looking to be swept up in an impressive adventure.

A series of erotic books centering on silkies makes perfect sense considering the lore behind them but is unexpected none the less.
