Though she wants to use her ‘gifts’ for good, detective work burned Leah Wolfe out, leading her into retirement early. Between her former fiancé and her adopted father, Leah can’t completely walk away, especially when paranormal women start turning up violently dead. Lean meets Ian Nightwalker, a vampire with more secrets and history than Leah could imagine. The hunt for the killer threatens everything Leah has come to hold dear and she’ll be lucky if she makes it out alive.
Nightwalker had some serious surprise and twisty-turny moments. I’d start to get pulled one way, thinking that was the direction the story would go, only for something different to happen. The secondary characters are very rich in this story and I hope to see more of them in future stories by Ms. Print. The only part that really got me was the end. No one-at all-was happy in the end. Not even a little. I understand it’s the first in a series, but after growing so attached to everyone, I would have at least liked a glimmer of someone being happy at the wrap. I guess I’ll just have to read the next one and hope for someone getting what they want.
