"Delivering Valentine’s was an unusual job for a lady, but Rosalyn Sue Mitchell had lots of newfangled ideas. Rosalyn – affectionately known as Cupid – liked her job and her independence. But she was downright tired of hearts and flowers. She longed for the love her valentines helped bring to everyone else, the love her friends were always urging her to find. Then a handsome gentleman from New York City came to town and dedicated himself to getting Rosalyn into the spirit of the holiday. Dark, charming Christian Garrett would make Rosalyn his – as long as she didn’t find out who he really was."
This is a charming look at industrial New England in a city that most wouldn't have thought to write about Worcester Massachusetts. Our Heroine is feisty and genuinely adorable. The reader loves her almost immediately. The Hero Christian has a chip on his shoulder a mile wide but a heart just as big. It a pleasure to watch him grew and learn to trust again.
The team of women that make up Sheridon Smythe have written an endearing book that mixes fictional characters with real historical figures like the original owner of Hershey within their story. The scene where the women try chocolate for the first time is a classic. If you are looking for a sweet valentines day story to wrap up with on a cold snowy day this might work well for you.
