Lola Getz has not had an easy life, losing her parents and then her husband. Now someone is out to kill her. She runs from the dangers of living in Mexico and being murdered. She runs back to a place she once felt safe, not expecting anything more than feeling safe if only for a short time.
Web Bond’s life isn’t easy these days. His job as a police officer seems to be going nowhere, and his mother barely knows him anymore. Then everything changes when the girl he’d once been attracted to in high school shows up for the reunion. But she is in danger and all he can think about is protecting her…and seeing if they can have a future together.
The characters were interesting and the slow-building romance sweet.
