Michael Kane is searching for his sister, but instead finds his mate. Abused and mistreated her entire life, Scarlett doesn’t know any other way. Worse, the other members of her pack don’t know any better than what they’ve been taught their whole lives. After he learns his sister is not with Scarlett’s pack, he wants to leave and start his life at home with his skittish, though lovely mate. Instead, he teaches the New Orleans werewolves what it really means to be pack.
I’ve read other stories from the Westervelt series, and Ms. Royce once again has a fantastic story. Michael is one of my favorite werewolves, ever. He’s got a really great balance of the need to please and protect along with the badass side any good werewolf needs. Alpha Wolf is definitely a little heavy, but the serious parts are balanced well with humor from supporting characters. I can’t wait to pick up the next one.
