Leah Wright is in Chicago at a writer’s conference to promote her novels, but she leads a secret life as Iron Maiden. She needs time away from the hotel and wants to research the city for her next story, see some sights and talk to some locals. As she flies around intent on that, she spots a handsome man dancing on a rooftop’s ledge. But, fortunately, he doesn’t need saving. Jiang Wu has much more interesting “needs” she can help him with. And he has a friend, The Dark, who is more than willing to share in fulfilling both Jiang’s “needs” and hers.

This is a very short, spicy erotica story. The characters are only slightly developed and there is no conflict. But if you want a hot story to read, this is a good one.

Super-hero Victor Kruger, the Black Knight, is frustrated at not getting as much media attention is the Guardians. He meets a young reporter, Robin Harris, who wants a private interview. He agrees, knowing he’ll maybe get better publicity from her or at least sex.

Robin has a secret mission, more than just interviewing the city’s newest protector. Can she accomplish her mission and have great sex with the handsome Black Knight? Does she want more from him than a one-night stand?

This was a very short story, leaning definitely more along the line of erotica than an erotic story. The focus was more on sex than plot, which is acceptable for erotica. But the characters had such promise and I was a little disappointed not to have the storyline blown up more and the characters more developed.

Daisy Cooper is by day a mild-mannered office worker working in a cubicle, supposedly leading a very plain life, dating little. By weekend, she sheds the mild demeanor and becomes a man-eating siren. She craves the hedonistic pleasures of a notorious sex club. Attempts at romantic liaisons hadn’t worked for her. She is satisfied with her life until she meets a new man at the club, until he gets hired at her company. Keeping her personal and professional lives separate has now become a problem. A great read that appeals to that inner wanton in many of us.

Ever needed sex really bad and unable to have it? Well that’s the heroine, Leah’s problem. Visiting a party for just that purpose her first attempt at release turns into a break-in, a guest is shot and her cover is blown. Frustrated she does her job and tries to forget that one near release. Then along comes Victor and she finds what’s she looking for.

I was pleased with the way the story started right out with an attention grabber that took hold and kept me intrigued to the point I didn’t want to stop. Gayle Roarke did a good job with her characters making them real. It took a moment after I finished reading to settle myself back in the real world. It was a trip well worth taking. The heat level was awesome and kept my mind traveling along with the events of the moment. I would recommend Flying High for a great short read for any who like surprises and erotic romance.

In the midst of spoiling the evil plot of Dr. Otaku, Leah Wright aka the Iron Maiden is introduced to a bondage apparatus and becomes very interested. After defeating the evil doctor Leah goes in search of her lover and superhero Victor Kruger. As they sate each other’s hunger Victor learns of her interests and decides to take action. Leah agrees to see if she enjoys the real thing as much as her imagination. As strong as Leah is she does not think that she will ever be able to do just what she wants. Will Victor be able to make Leah happy in the way she wants?

Gail Roarke writes a quick paced story. Using two super heroes was a surprising twist. I have never read anything of the kind before. In Bound by Convention she writes an interesting story. Making the characters believable and full of emotion. The story’s characters and feelings take over the story. This book is written well and is a fun read. The relationship between Leah and Victor is a strong one. I enjoyed the fact that each was trusting of the other and knew that they would not hurt them in any way. Victor was very inventive in many ways especially with the way he got Leah to refrain from breaking the bonds that held her. It makes the reader want to see if they have any more plans to enjoy themselves.

I enjoyed reading this story. It is definitely a hot read. This author has a wonderful writing style that will have me on the look out for more of her stories in the future.
