Love can be a complicated, painful matter…especially among friends.

Lord Randall Wyatt loves his wife with all his heart and will do anything to make her forever happy. She deserves to have a baby; they deserve to have a child to raise together. Injuries from the war have made it so he can’t give her a baby. But he knows his best friend is in love with her, too. Randall swallows his pride and asks his friend for a serious favor, a precious gift.

Lady Simone has lusted after and fantasized about Ashton, her husband’s long-time friend, but she would never act on her feelings. She loves her husband and would never hurt him. She would like to have a child, but it is doubtful that he can give her one. Then he comes up with a plan to possibly let her become a mother, an amazing, selfless plan.

Captain Ashton Cooper would never do anything to hurt his best friend, would never come between Randall and the woman both men love. He can’t stay here and suffer the anguish of watching Simone be with Randall any longer. It is time to leave the country and forget them both. And then they ask him for an unimaginable favor, a difficult one to agree to, and yet…

For such a short story, this was amazing. The characters were developed enough that the reader understood their frustrations, their needs, their conflicts. Tough choices. Deep emotions. Hot, hot, hot, too.

Hannah, half-human vampire hunter has received a lead on one of the vampires who wiped out her family nearly a century ago. In order to follow up on the lead, she goes to Nicholas, the vampire who saved her way back then. Together they must face a group of Dissenters, vicious killer vamps, as well as an awakening of their own passions toward each other. But Nicholas has a secret that may destroy their newfound love.

Ms. Starke has penned a fast-moving, passionate story of paranormal characters with very human feelings. I was drawn in right from the first page, wanting to see how Hannah and Nicholas would be able to resolve all the problems that faced them. Could they be together? And would they survive to be together? I highly recommend this exciting and entertaining story.

Leah Wright is in Chicago at a writer’s conference to promote her novels, but she leads a secret life as Iron Maiden. She needs time away from the hotel and wants to research the city for her next story, see some sights and talk to some locals. As she flies around intent on that, she spots a handsome man dancing on a rooftop’s ledge. But, fortunately, he doesn’t need saving. Jiang Wu has much more interesting “needs” she can help him with. And he has a friend, The Dark, who is more than willing to share in fulfilling both Jiang’s “needs” and hers.

This is a very short, spicy erotica story. The characters are only slightly developed and there is no conflict. But if you want a hot story to read, this is a good one.

Super-hero Victor Kruger, the Black Knight, is frustrated at not getting as much media attention is the Guardians. He meets a young reporter, Robin Harris, who wants a private interview. He agrees, knowing he’ll maybe get better publicity from her or at least sex.

Robin has a secret mission, more than just interviewing the city’s newest protector. Can she accomplish her mission and have great sex with the handsome Black Knight? Does she want more from him than a one-night stand?

This was a very short story, leaning definitely more along the line of erotica than an erotic story. The focus was more on sex than plot, which is acceptable for erotica. But the characters had such promise and I was a little disappointed not to have the storyline blown up more and the characters more developed.

What happens when two best friends, two dominants come together after years of longing for each other? Heat, lots of it!

Aric Calderwood has owned a BDSM club for years, become a powerful dom and believed himself happy with his lifestyle and career. He has never had a real girlfriend, never really wanted one. The only woman steadily in his life has been Ainsley Conner, his best friend and a dom in her own right. Then one day out of the blue she shows up at his club and threatens to destroy his life and their relationship.

I loved Aric’s struggle with his dominant leanings and the way he wanted to treat Ainsley. He couldn’t have a true dominant/submissive relationship with her. But he wants far more than that now. And Ainsley’s finally deciding to take a chance on what she has longed dream for made me cheer for her as well. Risking a friendship for something more is a big conflict and it was handled very well here.

Marion Parker experiences every brides' worst nightmare when her future husband, Ethan Baxter, leaves her moments before their ceremony. Best man Graeme Butler delivers the forged note to the devastated bride, all the while he's been pining away for Marion for the last three years. After six months of seeking solitary comfort for heartache, Marion and Graeme meet up after a brief and hostile encounter she has with Ethan. Marion and Graeme have dinner and casual conversation while both are thinking about how they can get the other into bed and naked. Weeks of non-dating, because they're just friends, the couple can't fight the sexual attraction.

Marion faces mixed emotions for both Ethan and Graeme and must decide to take another chance on love with Graeme or to forgive Ethan for breaking her heart. With the assistance of her best friend, sassy Delilah, Marion makes her decision. Once again, Miles builds great relationships between her characters and the saucy Delilah adds just the right touch of elegance and spunk. Very well written and Miles weaves a tale of love, sex and relationships to perfection.

Daisy Cooper is by day a mild-mannered office worker working in a cubicle, supposedly leading a very plain life, dating little. By weekend, she sheds the mild demeanor and becomes a man-eating siren. She craves the hedonistic pleasures of a notorious sex club. Attempts at romantic liaisons hadn’t worked for her. She is satisfied with her life until she meets a new man at the club, until he gets hired at her company. Keeping her personal and professional lives separate has now become a problem. A great read that appeals to that inner wanton in many of us.

Cassie Archer has recently inherited her grandmother’s farm, but the quiet country life may not be as peaceful, or safe, as it seems. There has been a murder in the neighborhood, and. There has been a murder in the neighborhood, and Sheriff Garrett Daniels wonders if Cassie might not have been the real intended victim. There is certainly something in the house that is trying to tell her something. When a grandmother is a witch, death may not be enough to stop her from trying to protect and help her granddaughter.

I totally and completely loved this book. It was one of the very rare stories I can say that about. The book opens with an exciting scene that grabs the reader and pulls them into the story, wondering, what is going on? and What will happen next? Of course, this is a romance, and it’s hard to miss with an extremely hot guy in uniform, like Sheriff Daniels. A hot guy who is trying to protect her from life threatening danger. Irresistible, right? And the chemistry between Cassie and Garrett will not disappoint. This is a really fun story even if your own countryside is not populated by helpful sheriffs and witches. But wouldn’t it be fun if it were?

Ever needed sex really bad and unable to have it? Well that’s the heroine, Leah’s problem. Visiting a party for just that purpose her first attempt at release turns into a break-in, a guest is shot and her cover is blown. Frustrated she does her job and tries to forget that one near release. Then along comes Victor and she finds what’s she looking for.

I was pleased with the way the story started right out with an attention grabber that took hold and kept me intrigued to the point I didn’t want to stop. Gayle Roarke did a good job with her characters making them real. It took a moment after I finished reading to settle myself back in the real world. It was a trip well worth taking. The heat level was awesome and kept my mind traveling along with the events of the moment. I would recommend Flying High for a great short read for any who like surprises and erotic romance.

In the midst of spoiling the evil plot of Dr. Otaku, Leah Wright aka the Iron Maiden is introduced to a bondage apparatus and becomes very interested. After defeating the evil doctor Leah goes in search of her lover and superhero Victor Kruger. As they sate each other’s hunger Victor learns of her interests and decides to take action. Leah agrees to see if she enjoys the real thing as much as her imagination. As strong as Leah is she does not think that she will ever be able to do just what she wants. Will Victor be able to make Leah happy in the way she wants?

Gail Roarke writes a quick paced story. Using two super heroes was a surprising twist. I have never read anything of the kind before. In Bound by Convention she writes an interesting story. Making the characters believable and full of emotion. The story’s characters and feelings take over the story. This book is written well and is a fun read. The relationship between Leah and Victor is a strong one. I enjoyed the fact that each was trusting of the other and knew that they would not hurt them in any way. Victor was very inventive in many ways especially with the way he got Leah to refrain from breaking the bonds that held her. It makes the reader want to see if they have any more plans to enjoy themselves.

I enjoyed reading this story. It is definitely a hot read. This author has a wonderful writing style that will have me on the look out for more of her stories in the future.
