I had the honor of reading and reviewing the first book in this series and couldn’t imagine how the series could get any better. But it did. I have no idea what is in store for the final book in the trilogy, but I’ll be reading it for sure!



The main characters from the first book (Rachel, Eli, Charles, and Giovanni) are all back. Their lives have greatly changed as Rachel and Eli adjusted to Giovanni’s death. And new characters were added this time as Rachel, Eli, Charles and others seek revenge from those responsible for their great loss. Yet Rachel is haunted by horrible nightmares, hears her name called out in her head.



As before, the characters are well-developed with complicated backgrounds, difficult obstacles to face, intense emotional conflicts, and lots of sexual tension. This is definitely a good book to spend a night reading.

Rachel works nights in a hospital, preferring the nights to days. One night she meets a man who haunts her dreams, just as she haunts his. She longs for him and yet can’t understand the strength of her feelings. Giovanni needs her, stunned by how she can see his thoughts and feel his emotions. He needs her, wants her and she wants him, too. But the life he leads and can offer her will change her forever.

One of the emotional lines that captured my attention was “I touched a blood-tinged tear as it slipped down his face.” From that moment on I was drawn into their story of a complicated love. This is book one of a trilogy that I look forward to reading.
