When Misty, a strong willed woman, finally decides to try and garner Tanner’s attention once again it seems that fate has other ideas. Tanner is a life long friend and an honorable man who may think of Misty in more than a brotherly fashion, but that is just what is stopping him from acting on those feelings. He could never betray his best friend and Misty’s older brother by starting a relationship with her.

When Tanner is awakened by a phone call for help from Misty the fun begins. For days both Tanner and Misty fight their feelings for each other. Passion flares between the two yet they never get very far due to outside interference. As you read Misty and Tanner’s story one can only hope that these two finally get together and just listen to their feelings instead of fighting them.

Not only is the reader treated to Misty and Tanner’s story in this book but we get to meet other characters such as Misty’s brother that endear themselves to the reader as well. Rhonda Leah writes a story with characters that are full of emotion and depth. She takes the reader on a great ride pulling you in and keeping you there and entertained all the way through. This is a wonderful book that should not be missed and I know that this reader is eagerly awaiting her next one.

I had the honor of reading and reviewing the first book in this series and couldn’t imagine how the series could get any better. But it did. I have no idea what is in store for the final book in the trilogy, but I’ll be reading it for sure!

The main characters from the first book (Rachel, Eli, Charles, and Giovanni) are all back. Their lives have greatly changed as Rachel and Eli adjusted to Giovanni’s death. And new characters were added this time as Rachel, Eli, Charles and others seek revenge from those responsible for their great loss. Yet Rachel is haunted by horrible nightmares, hears her name called out in her head.

As before, the characters are well-developed with complicated backgrounds, difficult obstacles to face, intense emotional conflicts, and lots of sexual tension. This is definitely a good book to spend a night reading.

Book 5 of The Chronicles of Surrender

Three of my favorite characters return in this book: Celia and her two lovers/masters, Thomas and Garrett. They make up a very interesting ménage living in a dark and different world as part of their lives. Three people who have chosen to participate in a BDSM lifestyle beyond their everyday lives.

As if their chosen relationship and lifestyle aren’t complicated enough, Thomas has a secret identity in a black ops organization. The side of him that he has tried to keep private and not part of their ménage takes a turn for the worse. I won’t go into the many obstacles and complications both he and the others face, but they will keep the reader turning the page and wondering how it can all possibly work out.

Not only does Thomas’s secret job threaten their relationship, but also each of the other two people must deal with some very challenging things in their individual lives. Celia worries about their relationship surviving the many changes brought on by circumstances, including her upcoming new role as a mother to Thomas’s twins and a step-mother to his four children. Garrett faces a serious situation with his parents and has to determine his role in the much more complex ménage. And Thomas tries desperately to keep everyone safe as well as saving their special relationship.

I was fortunate enough to read and review the fourth book in this series, Echo of Redemption, as well. Now I have to go back and read the first three. And I will have to wait anxiously for the next book in the series, Vow of Silence. It isn’t often I find a cast of characters and a storyline that I want to be sure and not miss any books in the series. This is an author I’m definitely adding to my list of favorites.

Diane Matthews is a saleswoman who is tired of the monotony her life has become and is looking for love. When leaving work she is saved by the hot rich mysterious customer of her dreams. She cannot seem to get him off her mind. Will the most romantic night of her life ruin it?

Francisco Bolle is a vampire trying to move up in Vampire Society. After saving Diane, he soon learns that they have more in common than he thought. He finds himself intrigued by her, but will that interest get her killed?

Soon danger, in the form of an old enemy, rears its ugly head and Francisco has to choose between himself or Diane. Diane is just as stubborn to save Francisco. Will one die for the other? Will circumstances bring the two lovers closer than they ever thought possible or will it tear them apart?

Overall, I was pleased with the book. It starts out fast, and then slows down before kicking back into gear. It could use a bit more lead-in on some scenes to keep the reader informed. This adventure has twists and turns that you as a reader will not see coming. It has a good story line that leaves you guessing till the end while entertaining the possibility for a sequel.

Murph’s life takes a major change when her husband of over twenty years has a midlife crisis and marries a younger woman. Left on her own to rediscover herself, she travels America in her Class C camper, looking for the next thing in her life. She finds it on a Louisiana beach. The Last Resort is a beautiful, albeit rundown campground. The locals are interesting to say the least and the opportunities for new and old romances are too plentiful for Murph to pass up.

The Last Resort is Murph’s story of discovery and remembering. She sees some amazing things and meets some very interesting characters I enjoyed immensely. But there is very little romance in the story. Sex, certainly, but no relationships were built to be the story’s main focus, so the story is chick lit or fiction, not a romance which is why I gave it three diamonds. So, if a reader is looking for romance and deep building of intimate relationships, this isn’t going to cut it. A fun, interesting account of one woman’s journey to finding happiness, however, will be found in Emily Forrest’s quick and sexy, The Last Resort.

Lilian Quinn is a woman with a past, one she is desperately trying to escape. She finds solstice in a quiet little town and though it’s far from exciting, it is safe. Or at least it was for a time. With powers she can’t explain, Lilian has been made a target by the Custodes Secreti, a secret organization dedicated to using people with Lilian’s kind of powers. Matthias Romulus, alpha of his werewolf pack sees Lilian is troubled, but couldn’t have imagined all the change one female could bring.

I asked the review coordinator for a sexed up werewolf story, and wow, Moonlight and Magick blew that request out of the water. There are plenty of sexy werewolves, but there is so much more. I loved the characters, not just Lilian and Matthias (both of whom were fantastic) but also the supporting ones as well. I want to read all of their stories, so I’m hoping Ms. Liu has them in the works. Paranormal stories that cover so much territory sometimes get difficult to follow, but Moonlight and Magick had no such trouble. It was clear and I loved the back story for the werewolf clans. All the details led to a completely satisfying story, but with enough left over for future stories from Matthias’ pack to be just as interesting. Anyone looking for a sexy werewolf or Sidhe story will find it here.

“Can a battered dragon warrior overcome past mistakes?

After an attack by dark wraiths, exiled guardian Allauria Grace, treks up a mountain in the middle of a snowstorm to locate her dragon. Once there, she finds a reluctant Callum McDrakken. In fact, he wants nothing to do with her and refused to let her in his haven.

They battle through memories of a tangled past and a devastating injury that left Callum unable to transform into his dragon form. With the looming threat of wraiths and the possibility of Allauria becoming one herself, they wonder if there is still a chance for this dragon to have his mate.”

What more could anyone possibly want then a brooding sexy-as-hell dragon who has been by himself too long? In Ms Dennis’ story Allauria only wants Callum her, but because of things beyond Allauria’s control, he no longer can stand the sight of her but that doesn’t stop him from wanting her with every breath he takes.

Ms Dennis has brought the reader into a fantastic fantasy world with dragons and wraiths battling it out. The images are so well written I could see her world clearly as I read. The heartbreaking love story is one of discovery, betrayal and redemption exactly what any romance need and should have. That and a hero like Callum and you can’t go wrong.

“Can Poppy find the courage to risk triple the love -- and triple the heartbreak? Poppy Maguire is tired of being a loser. Emotionally neglected as a child, she wants to find the courage to leave her family and the job she hates. She desperately wants to make a change. Little does she realize how much of a change sexy brothers Cody, Michael and Trevor Paraby will bring to her life when the friendly shoulders they offer turn into so much more. Comfort turns to passion and Poppy learns what life could be like in the arms of not one, but three men who love her. But what happens when the pink line on a pregnancy test doubles and she-s expecting twins, courtesy of one of a Parabys? The brothers blow her mind by offering her the family and love she-s always longed for. But do they realize what they-re in for? Cody is moving a little too fast, Michael may not be in for the long haul, and Trevor is a bit self-centered.In order for Poppy to have the extraordinary love she fears she hasn't earned, everyone is going to have to do some growing. But can she break free from the bad seed of her abusive family and have the courage to bloom?”

If you are looking for a true Romance with a twist then I highly suggest you take on the love story between Poppy and her men, Michael, Cody, and Trevor. Any one of whom could warm my bed any night but take on all three GRRRRRR. There is such depth in this story. Poppy who has always been treated as the “Spare Parts” of her family has never known love of any kind. So to make up for it she finds three brothers who are more them willing to love her (in every sense of the word), protect her and care for her forever, if she can just allow herself the chance to love and trust them. The emotions literally jump of the page and make the reader want, okay ache, for more. You feel the pain as they stumble to work things through, the sensual tension when they look at each other and the safety she feels in their collective arms. I wooted out loud when Poppy finally found her courage to stand up to her sister Rose. Ms Beck’s writing is wonderful, her conversations flow and you believe that this plural marriage is completely normal and has every chance of making it. 4.5 enthusiastic stars.

Love can be so complicated, especially in a ménage relationship. Even more so when the woman involved becomes pregnant by one of her lovers.

Celia has struggled in life and finally found who she really was when she became part of a ménage, one where she answers to two masters. She loves each of them and for different reasons. Thomas owns her soul, but Garrett owns her heart. But she fears that having a baby will destroy the family they’ve become. And, Thomas, the true father of her baby has secrets that threaten everything even more.

The story has very well-developed characters with complicated pasts. Conflicts and obstacles, twists and turns. There is much in the story to keep a reader interested and pulling for the characters to find some kind of happiness in the end. An excellent read.

Celia (Kitten/Sophia): pregnant; she loves them both; CEO of an alternative daily tabloid; partner in Master’s club

Lord Thomas Fyre: has a twin; owns her soul; plays with him on Tuesdays; she is his Sophia; Demetres Aristotle Velouchiotis

Master Ice (Garrett Lawrence): owns a BDSM nightclub; owns her heart; plays with him on Mondays; infertile; she is his Kitten;

Socrates Nikos Velouchiotis: Thomas’s twin

External: pregnant, torn between being mommy and sex slave; can the ménage survive if he leaves; Garrett needs to embrace his inner-Dom; Garrett thinks the baby is Thomas’s

I felt like I was reading a game of Clue, which was interesting and enjoyable.

Special Agent Quentin Banks leads a tiring, double life as both an FBI agent and an officer for the Magical Enforcement League. His life with the MEL has been hard personally. Because of some tragedies that happened, he doesn’t believe he can have a relationship, doesn’t deserve love or to have a second chance at it.

From the instant Quentin walked in the door as an FBI agent to investigate the murder of Abigail Carlton, a.k.a. Ruby Slippers, he felt magical vibes. Complicating the situation even more, he feels an unwanted attraction to Jillian Pearson, one of the suspects. She upsets his thinking both about the case and about his personal life. In turn, he complicates her life and threatens to reveal secrets that have led to her unhappy life.

The cast of characters were well drawn. The setting details good. And the conflicts, both personal and external, handled well. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good who-did-it with a paranormal twist.

I can’t believe the story ended! I want more, more, more. Fortunately, this was book 1 of a series that I will certainly look forward to following. This was a wonderful story about the adventures of a nearly all female crew of a steam-powered airship. Everyone has a secret, a past, and a hope for their future.

I was drawn to the life-wounded widow, Rose Madigan, now the captain of her dead husband’s freelance shipping airship, and her struggles to find work for her crew. The male cabin boy, Click, intrigued me, too. While he was intimate with many of the crew members, Rose is the “captain of his soul” and her lover.

Another special treat in the story was Atom Loquacious. I won’t tell you about him and why he’s such a special man. You’ll have to read the book to find out why. This is definitely a book to read.

Rachel works nights in a hospital, preferring the nights to days. One night she meets a man who haunts her dreams, just as she haunts his. She longs for him and yet can’t understand the strength of her feelings. Giovanni needs her, stunned by how she can see his thoughts and feel his emotions. He needs her, wants her and she wants him, too. But the life he leads and can offer her will change her forever.

One of the emotional lines that captured my attention was “I touched a blood-tinged tear as it slipped down his face.” From that moment on I was drawn into their story of a complicated love. This is book one of a trilogy that I look forward to reading.

When Randi arrives at the Feng Shui Inn in Sedona, she only has one thing on her mind. Travel back through the space-time continuum and find out what happened to her father, who disappeared when she was only two years old. But she hasn’t counted on taking along Mitch, an undercover fed, who seems on the trail to stealing her now grownup heart.

This tale of time travel romance takes Ms. Piper’s heroine from modern day Arizona to exciting Miami, at the height of its glitzy, slinky disco mania. Randi and Mitch, modern to a fault, meet the people of thirty years ago, featuring some of Miami’s finest underworld characters. Add in the fact that Mitch is actually working on a case, which may involve Randi’s long-lost dad, and you have all the ingredients for a great rainy day read. The only problem will be putting the story down long enough to go get more cocoa. Of course, this would also be fun to read on a hot day, with a tall iced glass of something. I just don’t recommend anything these characters had to drink in 1980. I doubt we have the head for it. Either way, this book is a fun ride with great characters and wonderful background.

Being part of a magical family is enough of a problem, suddenly sprouting wings and having the powers-that-be decide you will be the new cupid is an even bigger problem.
Aaron Bernhart can’t believe this is happening to him. He hasn’t even been successful at having a romantic relationship himself. How can he possibly help others find love? Well, there’s always the instructional manual that comes with the bow quiver of arrows. And he could take classes at the Institute. What he doesn’t need is someone giving him grief about his new wings and his new career. Especially not a woman only in town for a limited time.

Catherine Alicot can’t believe what she sees: a gorgeous man with wings, trying to figure out how to fly. “Have you escaped from an institution somewhere? Do you need some sort of mental help?” she asked him, and yet she didn’t consider him a freak.

I fell in love with this story in the second paragraph of page one. Who can resist a poor man frustrated by a passing flock of geese as he remembers how they plow through his flight path, causing him to plummet to earth as he struggles with a new set of wings? Even though Aaron knows he’s from a magical family, he can’t believe being the new cupid can possibly be his destiny. Then along comes Catherine to spot him trying to fly, only to fall to the ground in frustration. I enjoyed their interplay and her teasing him from the beginning with “you’re just a guy on the wrong side of genetics…I don’t judge.” An absolutely wonderful story!

Laurel’s world in the Big Easy just took an unexpected turn. Life as a business owner is always busy, but selling condoms and sex toys leaves her open to ridicule and now, threats. Lee Carter, a former lover, comes to the city and the sparks start flying like there wasn’t a decade of time spent apart. But Laurel’s afraid to buy it. The threats keep getting worse, and though she wants to talk to Lee, she is hesitant to make their relationship more than sex. Will she confide in him before it’s too late?

The Business of Sex had all the necessities of great a shorter story. The characters were likable, flawed, and funny. The pressing issue of the threatening letters kept the plot moving when the romance between Laurel and Lee could have fallen into a predictable rut. Ms. Leigh gets four out of five diamonds from this reviewer. Short, southern, sweet and sexy; it’s a read for those who enjoy a nice story and steamy sex.
