Enemies or allies? Opposites or destined to be together? This wonderful book deals with both questions and leads the reader through a wonderful adventure.
Kinalan is a Wind Rider, brother to the General of the Pagona Forces, and desperate to save his brother’s life. His brother has been attacked and poisoned by Eagle Assassins. Kinalan’s only hope for saving his brother’s life is to trust in an Eaglekin woman as they search for a cure. Santil is an Eaglekin who has lost her true-bonded eagle and is now shunned by her people. Yet she has gone to the General to plead for her people and for their eagles. But suddenly she must help save the General’s life and travel with a man who doesn’t trust her.
The characters won me over from the beginning. Their strengths and weaknesses and their determination to face dangers and obstacles had me pulling for them the entire way. And the developing romance was enjoyable to follow. Overall, a very nice read.
