Sentinels: Book One

A woman badly needing a second chance to fix her troubled life meets a man not particularly interested in helping her.

Radha Kaden hasn’t had an easy life. Now, as an ex-con in trouble again, she is threatened with returning to prison or using her training as a pilot in a building war. Not much choice there. But her situation doesn’t improve when she meets the straight-arrow, by-the-book Wing Commander now in charge of her life.

Davin McAvoy struggles to battle in a war with a limited number of skilled pilots under his command. Radha is forced upon him because of her flight experience, and because she has no other real choice. He isn’t impressed, especially with her attitude. Except she grows on him and he sees beneath the hard surface she presents to others.

This was a nicely complicated story that I enjoyed reading. The characters both dealt with numerous conflicts, including between the two of them. There was a slowly developing romance that left me feeling satisfied. I look forward to the next book in the series.
