Fairy tales in an intergalactic setting, Bound Among Stars contains two stories, one of sacrificing dreams of love for Sierra who agrees to a mating with another species in order to bring peace. The second is a version of Rumplestilskin, where Liese must trust a slave named Stillskin to not only save her, but to keep them both alive long enough for happily ever after.
The world building and creativity in these stories are very well done. I’m more of a character-centric girl myself when I read, so I wanted more from the characters than I got in either story. Sex-wise, spicy doesn’t do the stories justice. They are explicit, but romance and love do grow, which smoothes out the edges of the often quick, harsh and extreme sex scenes. Sci-fi readers looking to spice things up will enjoy this one.
