For more than three hundred years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore - and its secrets.

To summer tourists, it's the crown jewel of the town's stunning scenery. To the residents of Whiskey Beach, it's landmark and legend. To Eli Landon, it's home...

A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigation after being accused of murdering his soon-to-be ex-wife. And though there was never enough evidence to have him arrested, his reputation is in tatters as well as his soul. He need sanctuary. He needs Bluff House.

While Eli's beloved grandmother is in Boston, recuperating from a nasty fall, Abra Walsh has card for Bluff House, among her other jobs as yoga instructor, jewelry maker, and massage therapist. She is a woman with an open heart and a wide embrace, and no one is safe from her special, some would say over-bearing, brand of nurturing - including Eli.

He begins to count on Abra for far more than her cooking, cleaning, and massage skills, and starts to feel less like a victim - and more like the kind of man who can finally solve the murder of his wife and clear his name. But Bluff House's many mysteries are a siren song to someone intent on destroying Eli and reaping the rewards. He and Abra will become entangled in a centuries-old net of rumors and half-truths that could pull them under the thunderous waters of Whiskey Beach...

Passion and obsession, humor and heart flow together in a novel about two people opening themselves up to the truth - and to each other.

Whiskey beach starts in a way that had me checking that I didn’t miss a book before, perhaps a sister or family member of the Hero because when we start the story so much has already happened. Eli, who not an Alpha male I adored, has spent the last year in a state of depression because he is the main suspect in his wife's murder. So I think we were supposed to feel invested in him in the beginning. He has returned to the family estate after a long absence to feel and take care of the place for his Gran, Hester who I also adore.

In walked our heroine, Abra. Note I did not state I adore her. Because to be honest I had a hard time liking Abra. Abra who does a little bit of everything to perfection, who (Spoiler alert) seems to only carry around a ‘small carryon bag” of baggage from a past of tragedy. So even healing, she does perfectly. She, as Eli also wonders in the book, must own stock in little post it notes, which she posts like a mother all over the house and they drove us both crazy. She came off as meddling, holier than thou, and mothering. Not what I personally want from my heroines. I just couldn’t relate to her.

This is one of NR’s Romantic Suspenses and I pretty much figured out who killed his wife in the first few chapters. Who threw his Gran down the stairs took a bit more. That didn’t change the fact that I enjoyed the mystery part of the story. Though I would have liked to see the reactions to his innocence and some comeuppance from those who hounded Eli… I am speaking to you Officer Wolf.

Let me say that if you are a Nora Roberts fan, this one has all the things you love in a Nora book but I believe you will find much of the story, you have seen before in other books. Perhaps it is a case of kicking out too many books too fast, I don’t know. Overall I enjoyed it and don’t regret picking it up. To me if you are looking for a good NR Romantic Suspense try Carnal Innocence.

Mindy Spellman hasn’t been the same since a demon stepped into her life, murdered her boyfriend and left her scarred inside and out.

Jonah is one of the blood-oathed, sworn to guard mankind against things that go bump in the night. He’s promised Mindy he’ll teach her how to protect herself. But a poltergeist on the loose leaves him feeling protective—and lust-struck.

She’s supposed to be under his care, but as they battle the forces of evil, he finds himself caring too much.

What a different spin on the second book in the Shadow Promised series.

Weird Nights built off from the first book, Strange Days, where we met Mindy and Jonah. In a normal storyline, Mindy would have received the lead in the first story because most of the time it is the heroine that has a rough time with the villain. Not the case in Ms. Royce’s universe. Mindy may have gotten her butt kicked in the first book, but she comes back more determined and strong in Weird Nights. When Jonah was introduced to us, he played the cute and funny side kick. He’s actually a very strong man but something was off about him. We discover what it is in Weird Nights.

WOW – I sure didn’t see what came at me. Ms. Royce totally threw a curve ball at me and I am completely thrilled. She was able to bring two people together, even though they both were total dumbasses regarding their feelings. The hurdles she made them jump were full of twists, turns and sacrifice. They had to earn their love. Ms. Royce didn’t easily hand it over to them.

My only real issue with the story is I wish I would have read more about the young rescued siblings. They play such a small part in the story; I feel they could have used a bit more book time. The initial problem wrapped up too neatly in my mind.

Just like in the first book we are introduced to the next hero in the series (at least I’m hoping), Braxton. Now he is one troubled soul you just want to hug and fix. He is a bad boy that showed moments of heart, but most of the time he was veiled in a dark mass of pain and confusion. I have a feeling he is going to give us one wild ride.

Weird Nights was a very good read. I enjoyed the paranormal suspense and the all-around different feeling it gave me. It’s a great experience that knocked me out of my normal reading material and shook things up. Ms. Royce did a wonderful job and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Dodie Chase has a terrible crush on her neighbor, Christian Casillo. But a man like him—karate blackbelt, exotic dancer and romance novel cover stud—could never be interested in a mouse like her.

And thoughts of romance fly out of her head when her best friend’s boyfriend is brutally murdered, leaving Mindy white-haired and in shock. An evil clown, a creature from Dodie’s worst nightmares, is pursuing everyone she loves—and she starts to realize that Christian is among them.

The evil that are clowns strikes again. While it sounds like I jest, I’m really not. This is one mean clown and is hell bent on making Dodie’s life a living hell. Hurting everyone she loves and cares for. Austin, Texas has been overrun by evil and only one man can save us. Yes, I can say us, because I live in Austin. *smiles*

Christian is a man of many talents; from being on the top of every woman’s fantasies to kick butt demon killer. He has only one problem though, his neighbor, Dodie. From the moment he sees her, he has wanted her, but she won’t give him the time of day. Determined, Christian begins his campaign for her heart, but what he doesn’t know is that she has wanted him for just as long. Their love and lust are epic, but there is something wrong and he can’t quite put his finger on it.

Who would have thought that you can mix horror and romance? While the elements are scary and heck some people think clowns are the most evil thing out there, but truthfully, I wasn’t too scared. As a fan of paranormal, we all know there are some really scary beings out there. Strange Days was still up there with its scare appeal, but I don’t think you need to be too worried if you are not a huge fan of horror.

In the romance department, oh my I melted. Christian is really an amazing guy. I have met some cover models and he really personifies the men I have met. They are charming, yet likeable. Amazingly good looking, but not conceited. He knows people gravitate to him because of his looks, but he doesn’t let his looks own him. He is attracted to a woman who doesn’t think she is good enough and the way he loves and treats her is so sweet. We could all use a Christian in our lives.

I need to also give props to the two supporting characters. You would think that Mindy would have lost her mind with what happened to her, but she is one resilient woman and I can’t wait for her story. Jonah is Christian’s blood-oathed brother. Ms. Royce doesn’t shine too bright of a light on him, just enough to peak your interest, but you can see major potential. Their story is going to be a fun one, because we will get to enjoy two very spunky people.

Strange Days is the beginning of a new series, Shadow Promised. It’s a common story of good versus evil, but with a twist. A classic storyline that never gets old and I do believe Ms. Royce has a very action packed, romance filled hit on her hands.

“Everybody falls in love and everyone gets hurt. Alyssa Kendall is no different. But what would you do if the love of your life was being held captive by a psychopath?

 How far would you go?

Alyssa finds out just how far she’ll go for love, revenge and peace of mind. She’s not Torn between two men, but between the two halves of herself.

Which half will win? Find out in Torn.”
Ms Star’s Torn is a romantic rollercoaster, at times you just are ready for the ride to stop and at others you can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.  Her characters Alyssa and Julian are highly likable and flawed characters; in their flaws we find their humanity. What I like most about Ms Stars writing her ability to write color blind. I know this is an interracial couple yet it didn’t read any different then if they were, white, black, Asian or purple. I was able to loose myself in the heroine and put myself in her shoes.
The story Ms Star has is full of high energy but parts of the novel dragged and others she seemed to skim over. I would have liked the book to focus more on the mending relationship then being chased by a killer crazy man, and secondary characters that though likeable and rich didn’t always add to what essentially is a romance novel.   Although this story was not for me personally I will gladly read more of her work and look forward to giving  her another try.

“The CEO of Brinkman-Bonnette Publishing, Lana Anderson, is a psychic with telekinetic abilities. When her emotions run out of control she blows up electronics and makes dishes fly or smash into pieces. With a serial killer out to get her, she finds her family, friends, authors and staff members in grave danger and sets out to stop them at all costs.
Undercover cop, Brett Colton, is hired by the Lana's boss to protect her. Doing his best to elude a tail, Brett sees a stunningly beautiful woman waiting for an elevator and uses her to hide in plain sight, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. It turns out that she's his client and he's able to read her mind, dogging her every step as he fights to keep her safe.
They lose their hearts to each other while trying to figure out who among her staff members is the true killer. When Lana is kidnapped, Brett rushes to save her, praying that he'll be in time to stop the killer from acting out the scene from a novel that twisted the mind of a child and created the ultimate murderer.”

This book was good but it ran a little long for me. I really enjoyed the premise and was interested by the story line but a good chunk of the middle was unnecessary and made the story drag. The tension came back at the end when the story was wrapping up though so that made up for it. I liked both of the main characters but since the story dragged on I felt like a lot of their conversations/actions, became a little repetitive. Also, this might have just been a formatting issue, but this story had really short scenes that became really annoying and pulled me away from the story. Lana’s ability was an interesting addition to this story and added a lot of humor to this piece. I found Brett’s ability to read Lana’s mind a little odd because of it was limited to her and it was an unprecedented ability. Still they made a very sweet couple and were fun to read. I gave this book 3.5 diamonds because it was good read but it could have been better.

Oh, the problems a man…well, a zombie…can have! A never-ending erection, the ability to have endless sex, an inability to have an orgasm, and yet capable of giving any woman incredible sex. It is hard to feel sorry for such an undead man.

Peter Lyles went on spring break with friends one year and died. But then his friends decided to take him to a Voodoo Madam, and he came back to a life of sorts—as a zombie. He struggles adjusting to his new “life” filled with an insatiable appetite for sex, which keeps him from having to exist on satisfying a zombie’s need for human flesh.

The story is told from Peter’s point of view and well done. I didn’t expect to like the character, but I did. He is so different from what a reader expects of a zombie character. He’s a troubled young man, alive or undead. He struggles with internal and external conflicts and he tries to find some kind of happiness. Amazingly, he does. But you will have to read the story to find out how.
